Get in that dress

September 14th! What a great day to re-launch the blog. Yes, I've been away for a few months. I would like to promise that I will never take a hiatus again, but that'd be about as honest as when I told my ex I didn't cheat on him (for the record, he cheated first!). Oh dysfunctional relationships, eh? They're so much fun when you're bored.

Moving on. remember that beautiful teal dress I tried on in March 2010 for my good friend's wedding?

Tried on the size 12...

....decided I could be a size 10 by September!

Well it's arrived!.....and its too small. lol!
I know I shouldn't laugh but its just too funny!  The wedding is October 23rd and I will have to wear a dress that I can't do up in the back down the aisle and to the reception.....
This stuff might be my only hope!
 LOL!

I haven't told the bride yet cuz well, I'm sure she has a lot going on, what with the 400 person wedding and all in a month or so and all the European in-laws flying in to stay with them for a few weeks.

Ok, well in the meantime, I have been eating better quality stuff (all natural, MSG free) and lots of water so hopefully, HOPEFULLY, in a month I'll be able to easily slip into this dress.

Oh gawd!

My biggest setback is what to have for dinner? I  want to eat something that takes less than 30 minutes to make and isn't a salad. I have salads for lunch all the time and don't want another one when I get home from work.
Ideas, links, all welcome!

Happy, eating!

How to fake beauty from within (Part 1)

Ya, ya beauty comes from within. blah, blah, blah. We all know that, but I definitely feel better on the inside when I physically look pretty good on the outside too.

With that in mind I’m setting off to find some beauty tips and secrets from friends, family members and most importantly (and sometimes most reliably) the internet.

Day 2 of countdown to Vegas (8 days to go!)
Last night I slept lots (7.75 hours, woo!) and feel pumped, alive and full of life today. I really gotta keep that up. Let's see what a whole week of proper sleeping does for me, woo!

The problem: I’ve always had under eye circles/bags so today my goal is to find a way to get rid of them… for free!

Potential Solution: Surprisingly, here’s what I found from my dear friend, the internet:

Raw potato slices will help tighten baggy, puffy eyes. All you need is a potato and a knife or slicer!

To Make:
  1. Slice 1/4 potato to fit over your eyes.
  2. Cut 2 slices or, if you prefer, 5 to 10 very thin slices, several for each eye. Either method works.
To Use:

  1. Spritz eye area with water.
  2. Lying down, place the potato slices on your eyelids and leave in place for at least 10 minutes for best results.
----------
@ less than $1 for potatoes, I’m definitely going to try this one this week and let you know if it worked. I’ll have to do some before and after shots too I think.

Woo hoo! Bye bye bags!.... (hopefully)

Also, I’ve found a new love -his name is kale and he's delicious! ;)

I bought a bunch and have been using it in everything. Last night’s dinner was a pounded 3 oz chicken breast which I covered in shake and bake and grilled lightly in a non stick frying pan with 2 tsps of coconut oil and served over sautéed kale (sauteed in Pam spray and 1 tsp olive oil), cabbage and some leftover leek I had in the fridge. Who needs starchy carbs when you have tasty kale??  Mmmmm.

Happy Eating!

The best dessert ever

I had dessert with lunch today.

Yup, dessert. You heard me right. At lunch too.
Seedless Red Grapes. I saw them in my fridge this morning (it's so empty these days now that I'm buying what I need vs. what I just want) and I scooped them up to go with lunch.

I can't believe it!

I even passed up these beauties:

In favour of these beauties:

If only I craved grapes EVERY day. Sigh.

'Will power' is a myth! It's here one time and then gone 10 minutes later!

Hmmm. I wonder if those cupcakes are still in the lunchroom...

The countdown to Vegas begins...

Another weekend down and two weekends to go until Viva Las Vegas!

I swear, these mini vacations (this one's going to be 4 days only) help me stay on track and VERY motivated. Even my skinny friend is watching what she eats and is having carb free evenings till Vegas.

Of course she also plans to pig out on Mickey Dees when we get there but at least she's eating well right now....I'll work on her in Vegas. ;)

Still working the budget and sticking to it. It's hard to cut your variable spending in half but it forces you to prioritize what you really want to spend your hard earned money on. Turns out, I like to spend it on entertainment and booze which is 2 of the same thing I guess ( heh heh heh).

Re: Budget
Well Vegas counts as the 'entertainment' and if I stick to the budget this month then Vegas is a go! Technically I bought the trip already so now I really, REALLY have to stick to it.  Nothing worse than letting yourself down. the $500 I don't spend in April will pay for the trip and the $500 I won't spend in May will be my spending money (which is WAY more than I need but just an example)

So far so good. Today is the start of week #4 and its a little routine. Week 4 has 10 days though (21st to the 30th) so I have to be EXTRA careful with how I spend the $149.75.

Eeep.

Re: hot yoga

After another 3 days straight of it, the scale this morning read 179.5! Woo! Thank goodness too cuz today was the charity bake sale at work.  'charity' being the operative word here meaning that I HAD to support the cause.  3 brownies, 2 cupcakes and one slice of banana bread later, my stomach mysteriously hurt. No touching the scale until Friday morning now.  I must be strong and at least maintain this new low!

Multi-day ROLL CALL - memorable healthy meals since the last post:

Dinner Monday night -Chicken Scallopini
Grilled a bunch of mushrooms in Pam oil spray. Flattened a chicken, tossed a lil flour on it and grilled it in a little (2 tsp) olive oil and Pam oil spray.
Created a little sauce with chicken broth, lite cream cheese, green onions and mustard seed. Tossed em all together and voila:
Lunch - Veggie Fried Rice with garlic baked sole and steamed carrots (Tuesday and Thursday)
Lightly fried up some brown rice with soy sauce, hoisin sauce and a ton of veggies. Served with baked sole and more veggies in the form of steamed carrots.

Dinner - Bunless Cheeseburger (Wednesday night)
Romaine lettuce in place of the bun. I'm LOVING this! I put a dollop of jalapeno dip on the cheese and it melted right off the hot cheese. Whoops! Served it with a handful of baked fries and some edamame salad. Filling and delicious. I will definitely have this one again.

Exercise
Today's my rest day as 3 days of hot yoga in a row gets VERY tiring. Had a 45 minute walk after work just to do something though.  Tomorrow I will try the 6am hot yoga class and see how I do.
Yikes!

Wish me luck! ;)

Personal Empowerment and Control

Well that wasn't easy.

I wish Staples had a NOT EASY button. I'd press that. A million times I wouldda pressed it last night.

Having dinner and then NOT eating after 6pm and going to bed @ 11:30pm.
I had to leave the house and go over to my friend's place. However, on the way there all I could think about was food:
  • I smelled delicious curry from the Indian place (spianch curry on special)
  • I noticed all the pizza pies at the nearby pizza place (7 large pies on display)
  • The mexican restaurant (taco's are now 3 for $5!)
  • The hot dog vendor by the train
  • McDonalds' billboard advertising the new mcminis
  • and I think you get the hint
Luckily my friend's a skinny minny so there's never food @ her pad (thank goodness...for once!)

EVENING ROLL CALL: 3 pieces of gum and 10 glasses of water and crystal light had to satisfy my need to put something in my mouth (I'm single right now as you know, lol)

Results:  Well besides being down 1/2 lb, I'm also way up in self confidence.  It was like a one day test to prove that I COULD DO IT!
I didn't starve myself
I didn't eat too little
and I didn't die from not eating last night.

Now I feel empowered. Like I can do anything. I feel as though food doesn't control my life - I can control it! Woo hoo!

But!!! Tonight I'm hitting up a soiree hosted by Motorola (yes THAT Motorola).  They typically serve tons of finger foods, give out free booze and offer many giveaways.  I typically gorge myself on all of the above when I go so this time I have to try and gorge on only the giveaways. Eeep!

Last night there was no food at my friend's place to even munch on ('cept for gum and water). Tonight there'll be more food than I'll know what to do with.
I guess the real test begins.

Free food AND free drink. yikes!
What strategies can I use to NOT eat?? Help! :o

Back to the dang budget

The ol $149.75/week one.

Today was a hard day.

I wanted Swiss Chalet or chinese food or anything else for dinner than what I had available. And what I had wasn't bad. It just wasn't what I really, really wanted.
  • KFC- I would even try the grilled chicken options (with fries of course)
  • Subway (a ham sandwich is less than $5!)
  • Sushi (I can get a great combo for $6 or less)
  • And the list goes on.
No
NOPE
Nada!

Instead I had this:

My patented (patent pending) shrimp caesar salad with moderately homemade dressing

Delicious.

Followed by lots and lots of water.
I'm dabbling into crystal light these days too.
I love water but every once in awhile I need some flavour and crystal light does the trick.

Btw, $$$$ spent today: $0

Actually, I MADE a dollar cashing in a lotto ticket I found, woo!

Its about 6:30pm now, I won't be in bed till 11pm and I need to NOT eat for the next 4.5 hrs.

Maybe I should have a snack while I brainstorm.
Oh damn.
Right.

ROLL CALL

Breakfast:
The ol breakfast smoothie
1 medium boiled egg
1/4 cantaloupe
1 cracker with peanut butter

Lunch:
Mmmmmm. Sandwich time. Day 3. Tomorrow I will definitely switch it up. But for now...
oh yeah baby. you know it looks good.
Snack:
1 cracker with peanut butter
1 cup air popped popcorn

Dinner. See salad above
Ingredients: red peppers, romaine lettuce, avocado, shrimp, garlic, celery (for the crunch!) and sea salt.

Dessert: spoonful of cookies & cream ice cream @ my friend's house.

Eating is DONE!!

Water for the rest of the night!

oh man, wish me luck.

Happy eating!

Hot yoga, day 2 (of 30??)

Results: Down 1lb already, tee hee. I heart hot yoga! I know, I KNOW! I shouldn't get so excited about it and its probably just water weight but woo hoo! Now I'm back in business. As always, no excuses and no BS. Eat healthy, eat well, proper portions and lots of water and exercise.

I have and had sooo much to do today (laundry amongst the many things) that I opted to go to the 8pm 90 minute hot yoga class instead. Means my last meal of the day has to be by 5pm and a small snack after class cuz I'll most certainly be stah-ving.

I'm back baby! I'm prepared and I'm most definitely READY to slim down to summer! (hmmm. I  think I like that as a future blog post title too)

ROLL CALL

Breakfast:
-Breakfast smoothie (banana, strawberries, almond milk, skim milk, agave syrup, protein powder)
I bought some protein so the ol breakfast smoothie is back. Haven't had it in awhile so I'm hooked again!
-1 medium boiled egg

Lunch:
Cheddar broccoli soup (7g/cup) homemade of course from my fave gourmet recipe site www.drgourmet.com. The recipes are delicious but soooo time consuming! I tried doing a week of them and almost died of exhaustion while my boyfriend at the time nearly died from hunger as our dinners ended up being at 9 or 10pm each night, lol!

Whole grain sandwich with flour-less bread, meat, avocado, veggies and mustard. mmmmm

Now for its close up:

Dinner:
Eggplant Parmesan over brown rice noodles- my low fat, oven fried, veggie packed version (I'll post the recipe another time)

After yoga snack (planned) - peanut butter protein shake (peanut butter, cottage cheese, water and protein)

Alright, one hour till I have to leave for class.

Namaste till next time. :)

My job is making me fat

When I'm bored - I eat. If there's no food to eat, then I go and get food to eat.
I'm working on the Olympic team as a girl Friday (ie everything that needs to get done, they can ask me to help get it done) but as the Olympics are currently running smoothly (yay!), there's not much to do right now. Leading up to the Olympics there was actually so much to do that I was too busy to eat. Now though, while the Olympics are taking place around us and everyone is at their posts, doing what they're supposed to do, we can now sit back and watch the magic happen.
Now there's always something to do and a task to be completed and some administrative work to do, but once you switch from 14 hour days (with 20 hours of work to do) to 7.5 hour days (with 7.5 hours of work to do) you don't get that constant rush of adrenaline.Sigh. Who would ever think I'd miss 10+ hour work days and my lack of a social life.
Sigh. Good times

Current Office Treats:
  • Cookies (oatmeal raisin, white chocolate chip and dark chocolate chip
  • High calorie/high fat processed granola bars
  • Snickers bars
  • Mars bars
  • Rum balls (I don't know why the cafeteria brought these in for February???)
  • Xmas cookies (see comment above)
  • Ferrero Rocher  (mmmmm this is good anytime of year!)
  • Cadbury 100 calorie chocolate bars
  • Rice Krispie squares
Current Waist Size : Size 10 but still pending.... As of today I've said no to all of the above but the Cadbury chocolate and the Ferrero Rocher.  C'mon, its Ferrero Rocher! You don't say no to that. You simply accept your fate and add 30 minutes to your cardio session. Deal!

ROLL CALL:

I've been slacking on writing down what I eat. But no longer! I promise to blog it out at least 3 to 4 times a week, including one weekend day (because weekends are when I'm usually naughty- food wise AND otherwise, hee hee).

Breakfast:
1/2 cup all bran cereal
1/2 cup almond crunch cereal
1 banana, sliced
3/4 cup 2% milk

Lunch:
Ham and cheese sandwich on rye
1.5 cups lentil soup

Afternoon Snack (yah, I was a little hungry today):
2 cups pasta
1/2 cup pasta sauce
2 oz in meatballs

Snacks:
Ferrero Rochers! 4....@ last count, hee hee hee
Cadbury 100 calorie chocolate bars (1 QTY, woo!)
How can something so delicious be so wrong!?

Dinner:
1/2 cup brown rice
1 cup sweet and sour pork
2 cups mixed vegetables
Drinks:
Coffee! Soooo much coffee!
Water: ummmm  not so much. Only 6 glasses. Must drink more tomorrow. And hopefully, less coffee.

Exercise: Forced myself to go (haven't been since last Thursday)
30 minutes elliptical (level 16/20)
6 minutes stepper (level 12/20)

Tomorrow is a new, better, healthier, more active day!!!

Happy Eating

Olympic Events and an Olympic appetite

Friday weigh in: 183.5
I'm working out everyday for 30 to 45 minutes and am just able to maintain my weight.
Ah well, at least I'm not gaining weight. Working on the Olympic team is keeping me busy and is thankfully no longer adding to the waist line.

Pinnacle moment: Went shopping the other day and can easily fit into a size 10, waist size 30 and the medium/large clothing @ the Guess store!
If you don't get what this means, let me explain it to you quickly. If you've ever been a plus sized girl (14+), you know that those little boutiques like Club Monaco, Jacob, Bebe and the Guess store are pretty much out of your reach. You can wear the accessories and maybe the baggy sweatshirts or what have you, but thats about it. to be able to fit into the regular stuff is pretty dang sweet. :)

The Olympics are here! Who has time to think about slimming down when the city is getting fatter and fuller (with spectators and athletes and thousands of fans). People are always taking beauty shots of themselves in front of touristy stuff (yawn, boring). To me though, the most interesting stuff is the other people around me. Namely how many of them are out there.
My type of Olympic Pics:

This same area BEFORE the 2010 Olympics

Last Sunday on popular Granville street

Happy people roaming the streets
My train ride home. Hint: not usually this busy. Smile!

Robson St.  @ night
I love this one. Go Canada!

Yay to free stuff!
As and added bonus (bonus to my thighs at least). To celebrate all the Quebec men competing in the Snowboard Cross event (congrats to Canadian silver medalist Mike Robertson!), my office had free poutine (fries, cheese curds and gravy) for us to eat while we watched our guys compete. The best and worst idea ever. Best idea because the free poutine was sooo good. Worst idea because free poutine always tastes soooo good.

Damn you free poutine!

Ok so this week I MUST do better and I will do better starting with a trip back to the gym. I haven't seen it since last Thursday and I have a feeling it misses me something fierce.

Happy eating!

I can't fight the hunger.... I also think I'm still hungry now

Soooo hungry today.
Went to the gym this morning (first time in over a week) and I forgot how much hungrier I get on those days.
I'm out of protein and should have seen it coming. Plus I'm still in training mode at work so my days are open which means my mind wanders to food. Yummy, delicious food. I daydream about recipes.  I forgot how much I DON'T eat when I'm too busy to think about food. Or when I'm without a man. At least with a man I can keep my mind busy with thoughts of 'him' and what I want to do with 'him' or what I want 'him' to do with me (or to me, hee hee) or if anything, what he should make me for dinner or where he could take me. See! I told you I think men are good for something.

So what did I actually eat today?? The list of things I didn't eat would likely be less. Eek!

RUN DOWN (from the most recent snack to the first meal of the day)

-1 bag of smart pop popcorn (to which I added 2tsp melted ghee butter)
- 2 oz havarti cheese & 6 crackers
- 1 oz lite cheddar cheese & 4 crackers
- IKEA stuffed Salmon filet dinner with a small white roll with butter with steamed carrots and chive sauce and something they call vegetable medallions. It cost only $7.67 too! What a great deal. It was surprisingly good and fresh tasting too)

- 1 oz goat cheese and 4 crackers
- 1 babybell cheese & 6 crackers
- A coworker's birthday today and her husband sent her this basket which she shared with everyone:

Delicious and nutritious (that's DARK chocolate on those strawberries btw)

- a couple of small smoked turkey wraps

- 3 mini oranges
- yogurt, all bran and blueberries

and I began it all with some water and exercise at the gym

DRINKS
4 mugs green tea
1 coffee with sugar and 2% milk
10 glasses of water (that's more like it)

EXERCISE
45 minutes @ the gym:
squats
lunges
sit ups
sprints on the treadmill

Okay, tomorrow is another day and I expect to see 183 or LESS on the scale this Friday - ARGH!! (that was my attempt at an amazonian war cry btw)

Happy Eating!

Welcome to the 2010 Olympic Team

New day, new week, new job, new start!
I've recently been asked to join the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics team ( I chronicle the invite here)
and had to change job locations for the 2 to 3 month assignment for the games and the para-Olympic games (after which I will be transferred back to my old role, sigh)
New location means a complete change in routine - eating, working out and planning/creating meals.

New Location Issues:

1. There's no parking available at the new office tower and transit doesn't run near to where the office tower is (a 10 to 15 minute walk is closest bus stop).
PLUS SIDE: I'll have to walk a little extra every day (extra cardio, woo!)

2. Due to potential long hours and unscheduled shift changes, I won't be able to go to my usual crossfit class @ 5:30pm cuz I'll never be able to get there in time
PLUS SIDE: Fully equipped, on site gym with personal training on site and fitness classes, yay

3. The kitchen area lacks everything I'm used to. I didn't realize how spoiled I was in my current location and how much I took a functioning microwave, a cutting board, space in the fridge for your pre-packed lunch and a sharp knife for granted!
PLUS SIDE:.....still trying to figure this one out. Bringing in your own mini cutting board (like I plan to do tomorrow) is not really a 'plus side' thing.
    ROLL CALL

    brekky (8am)

    3/4 cup yogurt
    1/2 cup all bran cereal
    1/2 cup of delicious blueberries

    mid morning snack (10:30am)
    2 clementines

    lunch (1pm)
distracted by the lack of cutting utensils and a cutting board, I ate at the hot cafeteria instead and got:
    5 perogies
    1/2 vegetarian stuffed yellow pepper
1 cup of greens with hummous dressing
2 tbsp full fat sour cream

mid afternoon snack (3:30 to 5pm)
    2 clementines
    1 babybell cheese
    8 crackers

    dinner (7:45)
    2 cups Broccoli
    1 cup sliced mushrooms
    1/4 cup onion
    1/2 cup zucchini
1/2 cup cooked catelli smart pasta
    3 oz grilled chicken breast
1/2 can low fat cream of mushroom soup
    1 cup watermelon for dessert

    DRINKS:
3 mugs of green tea (1 tea bag I brought in my own from home and lucky I did as they don't have any at the office)
9 glasses of water (uh oh)

EXERCISE: None. :( Will have to kick it up a notch for the rest of the week.

    Happy Eating!

Pre vacation fasting: So THATs how that 'post blog' button works. Ohhhhh

    Whoops!
Before I left for Vegas, I meant to post this but completely forget! No way am I gonna delete this, so you simply get it a few days late. :)

    TUESDAY JANUARY 19TH, 2010

Last day till the infamous Vegas vaycay so of course eating healthier is MUCH easier today. Plus I know my partner in crime and I will have snacks galore for the next few days so fasting now is easy! The hard part will be when I get back. After a few days of eating 'fast'ly and conveniently, I'll definitely need to do a cleanse. Maybe several.

    ROLL CALL
    brekky (8:30am)
    3/4 cup plain organic yogurt
    1/2 cup organic grains
    1/3 cup blueberries
5 clementines (for throughout the day)

    mid morning snack(11:30am)
    1 cup baby carrots

    lunch (1:30pm)
I've been craving egg salad for awhile now so I thought I'd make some.

    the egg salad recipe:
2 medium free range eggs, boiled, cooled and finely chopped
    2 tsp miracle whip
    1 tbsp horseradish mustard
1/4 cup each green pepper, orange pepper and onion - finely sliced
dash of Worcestershire and tobasco sauces
black pepper and sea salt to taste
    * I mix the sauce and veggies together and toss in the chopped eggs in the end

The egg salad sandwich with organic, no flour, sprouted grain bread and lettuce:

    mid afternoon snack (3:30pm)
    1 cup vegetable soup

    din din (7:45pm)
Too lazy to cook and craving a stir fry which, to me, is a meal that takes forever cuz of all the cutting and prep work, I went to a take out stir fry place. For just $8, you can pick from a buffet of veggies and meats and sauces and then they grill it for you on a large grill. yay! I love inexpensive conveniences.
oh and I tossed out the white rice. I just wanted the meat and the veggies.

    my veggies
    broccoli
    mushrooms
    carrots
    onions
    garlic
    mini corns
    bean sprouts
    cabbage
    my meats
    lamb
    chicken
    beef
    my sauces
    garlic
    mongo jam (hot sauce)
    ginger

    drinks:
    Water - 12 glasses
Green tea - 4 mugs (1 tea bag)

    exercise:
60 minute Spin class. The purpose of this class was to 'train the mind'.  We were to train our minds to last longer than our bodies. The theory behind it was that your mind tells you to stop long before your body needs to. So the class was a bunch of long sets on the bike where we had to train our minds to ignore distractions and keep going.
One cool tip she passed on to us: Smile when you work out. Your mind won't know why you're smiling but will assume you're happy and you'll be able to work out longer.
    Cooool!
It definitely worked so I'll try it for any rough patches during a workout in the future.

Cheers for now and see you on the other side of Vegas where I will happily share the sordid (and potentially NON sordid if any) details. :)

    viva las vegas!

    Time for a revamp!

Spring Cleaning will come earlier this year.
I can't wait for March to arrive before I sweep these cobwebs out of this closet.
I've always wanted to dress better, to look better and to feel better and I want to start now!
The best way to go about doing this...make a plan!
I love making plans.  I also love breaking the plan but I'm always happy that I at least made a plan to break.
It's a sick and vicious cycle that I definitely plan to break. heh heh .

    So here's the plan:
    1. Dress Better
Options - get a stylist, start reading People and In Style magazine and buy new clothes...
I think I can do that!

    2. Look Better
Options - buy clothes that fit, update wardrobe, add to the exercise program (salsa classes anyone?), eat better, hire a chef (oh I can dream can't I?), hire a meal delivery service, laser skin therapy (I have adult acne -ick!), crest white strips, etc

    3. Feel Better
    This is all self improvement,
Options: Business classes (any subject), massage therapy, volunteer, donate my time and $$$ to social change, go to yoga ( I love it but can't seem to make myself go to the 90minute hot yoga classes anymore), get myself out there (socially and career wise), etc

I also need to do all of the above on a budget. Hmmmm. I might have to add a 4th category : Make Better Money.

    ROLL CALL

    Breakfast (9:15am)

Oatmeal again but this time I added 1/2 cup of All Bran. crunchy and filling.

    Mid morning snack
    1 cup of baby carrots

    Lunch (1:45pm)
    Turkey Sandwich
    2 oz smoked maple turkey
    1 oz havarti cheese
    1/4 cup avocado
    Tomato
    Cucumber
    Lettuce
    Horseradish mustard

mmmmmmmmm! My coworker and I have competitions sometimes to see who can make the better looking sandwich, lol! We typically end in a tie.  Here's one of her recent lunches:

    Mid afternoon snack (3:30pm)
    1 cup vegetable soup

    Dinner (8:30pm)
    3 cups chopped Romaine lettuce
1.5 tablespoons of zesty Italian dressing
2 small whole wheat cheese, veggie and chicken quesadillas
with plain yogurt (instead of sour cream)
& tostitos medium salsa which is to me the BEST salsa ever made!

    Drinks
    10 glasses of Water
4 mugs of green tea (1 tea bag, mug refilled 3 times)

    Exercise
Back @ Crossfit. Workout of the day (this is done after the 30minute warm-up):
    -3 laps (1 lap is 400m)
21 OverHead squats (doing squats while holding a 20KG bar over your head)
    15 pullups (chin-ups but assisted)
    -2 laps
    18 OH Squats
    12 pullups
    -1 lap
    15 OH Squats
     9 pullups
Then faint dead on the mats and stretch/catch your breath.

    Happy Eating!

If I lived on the moon, I'd weigh soooo much less

    Damn weigh-ins!
They're supposed to happen today so that I can ENJOY the weekends!
    184 - yikes!
I demand a recount! Surely I must be holding onto water weight? Maybe that thai dinner from Wednesday is still sticking to my ribs??
My own fault though, I have been slacking on the controlled eating part.  I think I may have to go back to daily posts as these 4 times a weeks are encouraging me to eat a little extra on the days that I don't post.
    Damn accountability!
T-minus 6 days until Vegas and I was hoping to be a svelte 179 instead of a bloated 180+. 6 days, 5lbs.....can I do that??
    Hmmmmm

    ROLL CALL

    Breakfast (8:15am):

Oatmeal - maple syrup & brown sugar flavour
Clementines (to eat throughout the day)

    Lunch:
Homemade stir-fried rice (made 3 servings)

    - 1.5 cups cooked brown rice
    - 1&1/2 cup green peas & chopped carrots
    - 3 oz rotisserie chicken
    - 2 oz shrimp
    - 1/2 cup onions & garlic
    - 1 medium free range egg

Stir-fry it all together with soy sauce and oyster sauce and voila!

    Dinner:
3oz extra lean ground beef burger
1 ‘Burger first’ whole wheat bun (they’re thin like pitas)
    1 Kraft cheese slice
    Garden Salad
1 tbsp of Kraft zesty Italian salad dressing
-Large handful of McCain fries (Spicy spirals)

Clearly my actual stomach was smaller than my eyes because 30 minutes later this remained on my plate:

The legend of the shrinking stomach may not be false at all. Gasp!

    DRINKS:
    H2O:  12 glasses
Green tea: 4 cups (1 tea bag, mug refilled 3 times)

    EXERCISE:
The trainer said it'd be "fun" today. I laughed immediately out of nervousness.
    Workout of the day:
    1. Kettle bell swings (16kg, 25 reps, 5 rounds)
    2. Double unders - skipping (passing the skipping rope around twice before your feet hit the ground): as many as you can in 5 minutes (I did 79, phew!)

    3. 100 full situps (shoulders to the ground each time)
    4. 50 Box jumps @ about my knee level for height to jump up

So she was right. As workouts go, this one was relatively mild. Her definition of fun was still incorrect but if I replace that word with 'sweaty' or 'will make you feel it in the morning', then yes, I agree it was 'fun'.
